Hi,

Which version of SAP have you installed? If you have installed NW7.0, you can do client copy from client 001 and later you can change the settings of the client using SCC4.

Hi,

Both 000 and 001 are SAP standard clients. You can do a client copy from any of the clients.

Hi,

First of all before doing the client copy go to transaction se06 and perform the post-installation activities.

In transaction STMS configure your domain controller. Alsomain the address properly.

Use client 000 to perform the client copy. In scc4 create this client and login to this client using sap* and pass and then using sccl copy the client.

Select the proper role and authorization for it.

The user master record you can choose to be 001 from 700 version onwards.

Also ensure that you run this job in background and particularly at off times. Else increase your background processess.

regards and reward with good points.

Hello, Before in earlier days when Customizing was directly being done on 000 if any thing goes wrong 001 was used as a back up client to overwrite all the deafult seetings & templates on 000 to get the client to normal state.

But from solution manager 4.0 onwards sap recommends to use 001 as production client.

As we are making a copy 000 clint for customizing purposes and leaving 000 obviously for updates are reffered ,GOLDEN CLNT OR MASTER CLNT ETC--

Regards,

Rahul
