Cheque Printing Problem

Hi All,

I have a requirement to design a cheque form. Whenever I print the check gets jammed, the printer in use is a HP LaserJet 400 M401 PCL 6. On investigating I discovered that the height of the cheque is less than the minimum height supported by the printer.

The banks here do not issue cheques with the holes at the end that allow for the use of a dot matrix printer so cheques are printed one leaf a time using the laser jet printers.

First question, does anyone know of a printer that can support the creation and printing of a custom format that is the size of a standard cheque?

Second question, is it possible to rotate text right by 90 degrees in sapscript forms e.g to output the word 'ABAP' as

Thanks,

Wilson.

Hi Wilson,

You have to create custom size check form in sap scripts. You cant rotate the texts in scripts as you mentioned but possible in adobe forms.

Hello Shadab,

Thanks for your response. Problem with the printer in use is that it has a default minimum format size and it is not possible to define anything that is less than this, unfortunately the check size is smaller than the default minimum size supported by the printer.

Had you checked creating the custom size of check in printer prefrences, because apart from default size i have created the custom size of check in my printer.

Hi Shadab,

I created the custom format in SPAD then on the printer. It is on the printer that I am facing an issue. The printer does not support the cheque size, cheque is too small. So the cheque jams in the printer when printing because of its size.

Hi Wilson,

I have developed same kind of issue with Smartforms. You can use just normal printer like 1020. Just when taking print keep the leaf at center to the intake tray and make the smartform as Landscape.

Design a smartform with landscapre property and as printing on white paper and align the texts and values as of Check leaf.

Regards,

Vijay

Hi,

You can create a custom Cheque layout in T-code SPAD(irrespective of printer).

Take measurement of your sample Cheque provide by Bank & ask the Basis administrator to create a custom page format, use that page format to design Cheque content display either in Smartform or in SAP Script. Also ask him to integrate that page format with the Cheque Printer.

Text Rotation is also possible in SPAD.

Most probable Cheque printer are Dot matrix printers in India.

Best Regards.

Hello Priyesh,

Thanks for your response. Dot matrix is not an option for me as the banks here do not provide cheques that can be used on dot matrix printers.

On text rotation, are you referring to the page orientation (landscape and portrait) or the actual text itself?
