Best data udpate method.

Hello,

I am a SAP security person with some experience and need to mass update user profiles (SU01) with their default communication method. My research has led me to use one of these: LSMW, BDC and eCATT. I cannot use a developer for this and have to do it on my own. Which method will work best for this case?

Hi,

that depends on your skills. Personally, I would go with LSMW using BDC.

I ran all t-codes. I am not terribly familiar with them but I don't have programming access and I need to update 2000 user IDs. It is just one field in SU01 that needs to be udpated (Default communication method needs to be RML).

If I use LSMW with BDC, dont' I need programming access?

I don't think so but I am not sure. You can just record BDC from LSMW and use it there without any need to modify or even look at code.
