BDC Display field validation

Hi Gurus,

Greetings.

In my BDC program i have one field which is not editable but while press ENTER key its value changes.

that is from A or B to C.

Now i have to put validation after press ENTER and Before SAVE.

How to read Display field values?

As parameter id is not maintained for this field and i have tried dynp_values_read but it was  not working.

Kindly suggest me any possible solutions.

You can seek the table data before you populate the BDCData internal table. That way you would know which data to pass and which ones to skip.

You can't read field values at runtime with BDC. You can only record predefined actions and run them. That's all. But you may implement user exits whose behavior may vary when the program is run via BDC, as SY-BINPT is set to 'X' when batch input runs.

Within BDC prgram i have to skip records based on these Diplay field data,

Though this data is keep changing while press ENTER but it doesn't comes under editable mode.

User exit is feasible?because i have to skip data  before call transaction.

Thanks for your response.

Here i have to read the change value(When we press ENTER its value chnages) at run time though it is display field only.

Any idea to direct read? or i have to find any exit as Sandra suggest.

This issue (field value is changing every time Enter is pressed) is not related to BDC, so my answer is not relevant.

You must look at the program why this field is changed, and find a work around to avoid that. If you can't, see if you can replace BDC with BAPI.

One option that you have is to incorporate the logic (that changes the values) that VI02 has into your program before calling the transaction.

Other option is find out if there is a BAdI which is available for this transaction.
