Hi,
we have activated AUDIT LOG through SM19.
daily I am obesrving that, there is huge log generated.
My question is where will this log is saved.
and I think in some way it effects the space on the disk.
so I just want to know is there any steps to be taken for this.
thanks and regards,
kavitha
Hi,
In SM19 Transaction code goto ENVIRONMENT thete select profile Parameter. It will give you the location where log file are stored.
It should be somewhere like this
\usr\sap\<SAP SID>\DVEBMGS01\log

Hi,
You will need to take a look at the following profile parameters for this:
DIDirectory for security audit files
DIR_AUDIT - Directory for security audit files
FN_AUDIT - Name of security audit file
rsau/max_diskspace/local - Maximum space for security audit file
rsau/max_diskspace/per_day - Maximum size of all security audit files per day
rsau/max_diskspace/per_file - Maximum size of one single security audit file
It would be best to work with your Basis team to set the correct values for these parameters.
I would also take a look at the filters for your log, if you take a look at the detailed configuration you can modify you can focus the log on only important and critical actions.
