Append Structure Table Standar - SM30

Hi,

I have a query.

I modified the table MARA by appending Structure, i added a field ZZFIELD, also I created a View Maintence ZMARA_V with two fields.

MATNR

ZZFIElD

I set the radio button to "Change and read"

My question is: Is this recommedable or is it like doing an UPDATE to MARA (standard table). Does anyone know if SAP recommends this procedure?

It is like doing a direct table update on MARA (excepting that you are using SM30)...

Look at the recent discussion regarding one time update of custom fields (if that is your requirement)
