ALV variant

Hi

I am using ALV in a tabstrip which is having 6 tabs. I have chosen one layout (which i saved) in first tab, and proceeded to 2nd tab.

When i come back to the first tab, the last layout which i have chosen is not displaying, instead standard is displaying. So i thought of using GET_VARIANT method to get the frontend layout, but anyone can please tell me in which event i need to call the method. I am using OO methods for alv.

Are you using CL_SALV_TABLE or CL_GUI_ALV_GRID?
