ALV Spool truncated

Hi.

I know it has been asked before, but I could not find a solution to ALV spools.

I am using REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY FM to generate a list of around 600 lines.

Foreground it is perfect.

Background, spool is truncated after 255 lines.

We have done the printer settings in SPAD to select a format of 65x1024. Selecting that also does not work.

Anything I can do to achieve this?

Are you sure it's being truncated? The spool display only shows you the first 10 pages by default. To see more click on the 'settings' button and change the parameters.

But i was talking about Spool Width, not the number of pages.

Hi Samant,

How many pages can you see for the spool created in SP01. Also, you wont get a grid display but a list display when running ALV program in background.

In case your spool has more than 10 lines, in order to see all the pages, go to the settings option on the spool display and input the total number of pages in the last page option. You will get to see all the pages then.

Wow, everyone is replying about pages.

I re-read my question if i typed wrongly. But I guess i didn't.

Anyway, to make it clearer : I am talking about spool WIDTH. I know about the pages settings button.

I want more than 255 lines to be displayed in the spool so that users can download the data.

Hi Samant,

When you set print options for the spool while scheduling a background job, after print immediately option, there is print specification option at the bottom of the window, click on that, you will find 1 more option of defining width which is normally 80 X 132. 132 is the width assigned to the spool display. Increase it to the size of your spool..say more than 255 as per your requirement, you will get to see entire width of the spool then.

If u r executing ALV report in background ,u might have set like this FORMAT X_65_132 on POPUP window for Print paramers .

<b>2</b>.

try to set that value Format value X_65_255 .This gives maximum no of columns with width 1020 chars.

Try to give that on PRINT Parameters POPUP window.

As I specified in my first post, we already have created a new format, and set that on the screen that pops up for print parameters.

Is the problem resolved. If no, could you send us the the code section where you are writing into the spool. i.e where your write statements are written.

If the issue is resolved, pls close the thread.
