why do we prefer ALV report than normal report

Hi Rasheed,

We are going to ALV as

1) it is easy to do manipulation. for example, you want to select some rows and do some processing with that records. this can be easily achieved in ALV

2) easy to format. ALV are easier to format. when u go for classical , when the length of the field increases, it is very difficult to align. You can optimize the coloumn with as u like

3) You can do many std functions like sorting, filter. You can even restrict the no of coloumns to be displayed.

we alv to display accorind to our requierment and it looks more gud as compare to other normal reports more dere are a lot feauters which u have in alv rahter in normal reports and u can see in most of the tcodes whic r used to display reports are having output mostly in alv......
