I want to handle the filter functionality of ALV from my program. I mean when i do filter is the control goes to PAI module of my program???

Look at the IT_EVENT_EXIT parameter - can set any standard OK code so it exits to your USER_COMMAND form before or after it executes standard code (or both) .
