is ale for transfering the data bt sap to sap systems or also for sap to non-sap systems also............

You can use ALE also for non-SAP from/to SAP system scenarios.

The external system has to be able generate/receive the same Message type, then communication is possible.

ALE can integrate business processes between SAP systems and non-SAP systems as well as between SAP systems.
