Adding additional TAB in AS01/AS02/AS03

HI all,

Is it possible to add an additional tab in Asset Master Transaction AS01/AS02/AS03??

I checked AIST0002 and there is no screen exits in this. Does this mean i cannot create a Tab Strip??

If it is possible can someone please guide me?

I found out how to add the additional fields in General Tab but it would be preferable if i could add a new tab.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Keyur,

You can create a new screen(type aubscreen) in the function group XAIS.

Then using the tcode AOLA, you can copy the tab layout 'SAP' to your custom layout and add a tab here.

One more thing, you have to assign your custom layout(created in the above step) individually to the asset classes. You can dot this using tcode AOLK.

If i do this, i can add the fields to already existing tab in the tabstrip.

How can i add a new tab to the existing Tabstrip for Asset Master??

I am sorry for the confusion. I have already done this enhancement(adding fields to existing tabs). It is just that i am unable to recall the layout config.

I wanted the screenshot when you are in tcode AOLA. After you copy the standard layout SAP to your custom layout.

Actually i am not in the office today that's why i wanted you to paste the screenshots.

Please not, i dont want to add to existing tabs, i want to create a new tab..

Please see the area highlighted in red. By clicking on new entries you can add a new tab to the screen.

Read the long text of the error message, there is a limit to the number of tabs (check table TAMLAYA for key FI-AA)

A maximum of 08 tabs are allowed in tab layouts of application FI-AA.

So if you want to create a 9th specific tab, you will be required to delete one of the previous, and dispatch its contained groups to other tabs.

I don't think you might be able to add the extra tab directly. I tried to add an extra tab in my system but wasn't successful.

You may have to do something like Raymond suggested.

Did your read the enhancement documentation via SMOD; read also Customizing (SPRO) documentation at Financial Accounting, Asset Accounting, Develop Enhancement for User Fields in Asset Master Record (CMOD) and at Master Data, Screen Layout, Specify Tab Layout for Asset Master Record  (AOLA) where you will be able to attach your 9xxx screen (code U9xxxx) in the screen/tab layout. (There you can add screen to tab or create new tab)

Correct link is User Exit Enhancement AIST0002 Step by Step (*), but not much on the Customizing, but it is actually a simple cluster of view maintenance.
