Hi All,
As I understand it, by not marking active company codes as u2018productiveu2019, there is a risk of deletion programs being executed on the data within the company code.
When exactly will deletion programs be executed on the data?
I read somewhere that the deletion programs which could be executed is intended for deleting test data? Is this the case?
Can someone please clarify for me.
Your feedback will be much appreciated.

When someone clicks around in SPRO or reads an audit report and "accidentally" hits F8 (execute) on the keyboard just to see what happens...

Yes, in test clients and their test company codes. However this is seldom done directly. Mostly it is used for client copies to remove all the company code related data before importing the new data.
However there can be some confusion between SCC7, SCC8, SCCL and what is "target" and what is "import" (into the transport request or via RFC into the client?).
Rather make the setting to avoid problems and audit accusations. If you need some "shadow accounting" then keep it in Excel, or better yet do not write it down anywhere..
Cheers,
Julius
