about the screen painter tools

hi gurus,

i am trying to desighn a screen in existing prog but

when i am getting into layout i am not getting a procedural layout screen

not able to see the tool where we can normaly see,tried doing setting but not able to make it right.

so, please suggest any setting with which i can work procedurally,

or guide with the same.

GUI 640 Patch 0 smaller than required(8). Continue with ALPHA SCREEN

can anyone please elaborate OR help me on this.

Try This path,

Utilities->Screen Painter->Check Graphical Layout Editor

I appears to be telling you to upgrade your SAPGUI to at least patch level 8.

Rob is probably right. Just upgrade it to the latest SAP GUI. You can get it [here|http://sapdocs.info/sap/uncategorized/sap-gui-downloads].

Hi,

Yet the old (alpha) screen layout tool should still work with the old SAPGUI. So with 'graphical editor' unchecked you should be able to work (not in a convenient way, though).

I was trained with the graphical editor and used it for a long time, but I recently decided to work with the alpha editor because it loads very quickly. So I would advise to use the alpha editor

By the way, to use the graphical editor, make sure that the developer part of the SAPGUI is installed, otherwise you can't use it.
