About text elements

Hello experts.

I copied a standard report and added three selection fields in selection screen .

EX... mo-matnr for mara-matnr. And i tried to change the text elements selection texts name . It given a message that it is maintained for german lang and do u want in login language.I selected the login lang and activated it .but in the selection screen screen the text is not displayed it is displaying like mo-matnr. Then i tried to delete it from text elements but it is showing message like Selection text MO-MATNR is a default va

cannot delete it.Please tell me why it is happening like that and how can i delete it completely from text elements. And also tell me how can i get the text for this selection fields .

Hi Madan,

The text element are language dependent.. the report you copied was in German so it had text elements in German..

Do one thing.. go to the text element maintenance.. and in the utilities u will get Translation..

In that, you will get all text elements used in the program along with the selection texts.. in the translation field, write the text in english, save and activate..

declare what ever text elements you want and activate that and come back

Hi

Text elements, selection texts are Language dependent. You have to maintain text elements in what ever languages you want. Go to text elements select GOTO in tool bar then Translation. Here your original language is displayed and in which language u need translation has to be entered. Here you have to maintain the translations. You can explicitly maintain in SE63 also.
