Hi ya all could you please explain me what is ABAP workflow,

can abaper work as abap workflow..

Hi Balu,

Workflow automates the steps and activities in a business process according to predefined procedures and rules.

Workflow presents information and documents to the appropriate knowledge worker or agent (another entity such as a program) to make a decision or perform an activity.

Workflow tracks each and every step in the process flow and maintains an ongoing status.

Workflow also collects and reports all of the metrics associated with the execution and completion of the process.

Hi,

<b>The workflow definition</b> is the set of rules that determine the path that the process takes. For example, how a purchase requisition is processed, from the initial request to the creation of the purchase order

<b>SAP Business Workflow</b> uses the existing transactions and functions of the R/3 System and does not change the functions. You can combine the existing functions of the R/3 System to form new business processes with SAP Business Workflow.

The workflow system takes over control of the business processes. If you are already using SAP Organizational Management, you can use the organizational structure created there to have the relevant agents carry out the individual activities. It is possible to have an activity carried out by a position. This ensures that the respective occupiers of the position can carry out the individual activities during execution of the workflow. This means that personnel changes in your organization are taken into account immediately in the execution of a workflow.

Hi Balu,

You can check the workflow documentation at the link provided,

and when you're ready, get to the tcodes in the following SAP Menu :

Tools - ABAP Workbench - Development - SAP Business Workflow .

or you can directly call tcode SWDD and open existing workflows to learn them.

It is required for an ABAP programmer to learn about workflow before working with this tool, just like an ABAP programmer need to learn SAP config to work as an SAP analyst .

Just keep remember that all position of SAP professional requires an understanding on the business logic .
