ABAP training for Java Programmers?

I am looking for an ABAP training, but not a normal one. Since I am developer for quite a while now, I am looking for something like a mixture between ABAP and system architecture.

I would like to understand the key concepts of the SAP system and ABAP. I intent to work in the Netweaver Java area, but I figured out that at least a good understanding of ABAP would be very useful.

At the Munich TechEd 2004 they had this cool session "ABAP for Java programmers", something like this would be what I am looking for.

if you speak German, you might have a look into chapter 25 of "Taschenbuch der Programmiersprachen", ISBN 3-446-22580-3. This is the shortest comprehensive overview of ABAP, you can get.

I believe, still it will be the best way to take SAP standard course BC400 "ABAP Workbench Foundations" for <b>basic</b> understanding of ABAP. You can also prefer to have some <a href="https://websmp106.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/011000358700003273662004">training on "Business Integration Technology"</a>.

You can check out the SAP Education site and/or education section of your country site of SAP.

I guess going to a SAP course is still the best way if you have the opportunity. But again, if you need a good start point... this is a good site: Sam's ABAP in 21 Days
