SEM market

I am thinking about taking an SAP Academy course in SAP SEM and also taking the certification. What are peoples general thoughts on the market, is this a fad or something where demand will be apparent.

I have worked in the BW market and have done some small work with BW-BPS

hi,

sem itself has several 'module'

- sem-cpm (corporate performance monitoring)

- sem-srm (stakeholder relationship management)

- sem-bcs (business consolidation)

- sem-bps (business planning)

...

the market may good in future, with sem delivered in mysap erp. currently if you just need bw-bps, you may consider to take course BW370-BW Business Planning & Simulation.

Hi,

I have also been working the BW market for a while and have recently moved to BW-BPS.

The market is extremely good for the moment, especially the last year and especially in BW.

BW demand has been high for a while, some projects are unable to source experienced people.

BW-BPS demand is there, lower than BW but this is mainly since SAP customers are still very occupied with their BW projects.

I didn't take any course, have always found experience more important.

I think you can learn more from saphelp, sap how-to papers and forums like these than from courses.

After all, SAP has one of the best documented systems in the world.

Of course, sometimes courses are the only way to get into a new area.
