Whenever a BI Consultant is told that you have got a new project, the first question he ask is whether it's an implementation project. (I am not an exception). The general understanding is people get to learn only in implementation project and not in support. This is not true. There is a lot of scope in Support project also. And believe me, this is how most of us starts our carrer. The only thing is support projects happen to be periodic and repeatative in nature. And probably learning curve goes downwards w.r.to time. The other reason to avoid support project is because of the odd working hours. Generally, it happens to be night.(When no business transaction takes place).

Most of the clients like to see more experienced consultant working for their project. No body wants a fresh face for implementation project. And this could be the reason why fresher are given mostly Support job.
