I have a problem where a new process has gone live, and is generating far more PI traffic than expected, and observed in QA. While we look at reducing the traffic to more rational volumes we have a problem with the PI system generating gigantic quantities of log data. We've turned all the logging off we can, but the XI_SEC_MSG table is still growing every day and we have found no option to empty/trim this table. We can see that we can archive data in this table, but we also want to understand which processes are running on the system that are generating entries in this table.
Form the notes and comments I've seen, it appears that certain security activity will generate a log entry in this table, but we don't know explicitly which ones that would be. We haven't deliberately chosen to use this table, and assume it's the result of a setting we made when building the new interfaces.
Does anyone know which processes will put entries in this table on a PI system?
How to stop them from going in?
How to remove them?
