Webmethods is name of a company.

There r products of webmethods in market that provides Integration solution as XI does.

Before XI, SAP used to recommend SAP Business Connector (SAP BC). This SAP BC was developed by Webmethods. After SAP BC 4.7, SAP stopped supporting BC. The latest version of this integration tool is Webmethods for SAP.

Hi Karan,

Initially WEBMethods and SAP colleborated and created a joint venture product called SAP Business Connector.

Then SAP Created its own middlewear called XI.

Webmethods have set of adapters to connect with SAP so at present there is no direct connection between SAP XI and webmethods.

They both access SAP tables using RFC and IDOC.

This thread will give some hints-

THis gives how XI gonna communicate with Webmethods,
