WebDav access to Sharepoint

Hi all,

I've configured an HTTP system with the following details:

- Server URL: http://portal.sharepoint.myCompany/sites/xxx/Shared Documents

- User: myuser

- Password: myPassword

- Same User Domain: Unchecked

and I've then created a WebDav Repository Manager.

However, I can't see Sharepoint Shared Documents within the KM.

I checked the standard trace and I got this error:

the repository returned no root collection (null): my_sharepoint_handle

I'm not using SSO, that will be the second step.

Any idea?

One thing more:

The problem seems to be related with the words "Shared Document" because there's a space in between. I tried to encode it with "Shared%20Documents" but it's still not showing up....

Hi Marco,

about a year ago I tried to integrate MS Sharepoint 2001 into SAP NetWeaver Portal 6.0 with help of WebDav Repository Manager. Eventually, I found out that MS Sharepoint 2001 cannot be integrated using the WebDav Repository Manager.

Meanwhile Microsoft provides the Windows Sharepoint-Services (WSS) Connector for WebDav . I guess you should give it a try. For details see Andre's blog Integration between the Knowledge Management Capabilities of SAP NetWeaver and Microsoft Sharepoint Services

Hi Martin,

actually it's sort of working.

I configured an HTTP to point to the following URLs:

- http://mysharepointportal/sites/Shared%20Documents/ --> doesn't show up (RID parsing fails and then returns a null root collection -

log file)

- http://mysharepointportal/sites/Shared Documents/ --> doesn't show up (RID is OK but then it returns a null root collection -

log file)

- http://mysharepointportal/sites/ --> does show up but, when I click on this folder, I get an error "Authorization Required".

Also, when I configured the HTTP system, I typed in the appropriate account (Domain\username + password).

Any clue?

Hi Marco,

the results remind me of my own experiences. When I tried to integrate MS Sharepoint I got similar results. It looked good in the beginning but it turned out to be impossible in the end. Rumours were that MS and SAP implemented the WebDav protocol differently.

I strongly suggest that you give the Windows Sharepoint-Services (WSS) Connector for WebDav a chance. As far as I understand it has been made especially for your purposes.

Best regards,

Martin

Hi Marco,

Did you ever manage to get the sharepoint set up as a web dav repository?

I am trying to do the same thing - I want to set up a MOSS2007 document library as a KM repository for my SAP EP system, and seem to be hitting the same problem as you encountered.

I realise that it was a while back that you were trying this, so I am hoping that in the meantime you have managed to get it working - possibly the integration has improved since then?

If you did get it working, I would appreciate any ideas you have on the best way to approach this.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Regards

Sorry I didn't get back to you earlier - the notifications don't seem to be arriving in my inbox.

No - I still haven't managed to get this working.

If anyone does, please let me know!

Richard
