Web Intelligence is a Business Objects tool permitting to create/open reports based on many types of Data like Excel, .txt, Web services, Bex queries Universes which are the sematic layer of data coming from relational databases, BW, HANA, etc. avoiding to use any SQL language and insuring easy communication between user and data sources using a graphic view to drag and drop objects.
After extracting data in a report using Web Intelligence, you can easily analyse them by appying filters, ranking, merging data from many source providers, creating graphs, formulas, choosing the language that you want to use and the format of the data like dates.
You can save your WebIntelligence report in .wid format (Its basic format) or excel, .csv, .txt, or .pdf.
Among the most important advantages of WebIntelligence is that it allows the user to extract data from many data sources in a same reportlike many types of databases( Derby, MySQL, Oracle, etc.), Excel file, .txt FILE, etc. by using Bex queries as data sources or universe based on BW (Business Warehouse).
However, Webintelligence doesn't support old versions of Excel older than Excel 97 and doesn't support custom SQL.
