Valuehelp for Migration

Hello everyone,

For the migration to the public cloud, I need to fill out the templates. I don’t have information on which values I need to map, for example, for the base quantity ISO code. On the surface, I can open the value help and see the values, but I cannot copy them. In ERP, I could use SE11 to view the value help and the values. How can I access this information in the public cloud so I can map it correctly?

Thank you!

Hello @Simon_Lehnert

For Product migration in SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud, enter ISO codes (per UN/CEFACT) in the “Base Unit (ISO Format)” column—use C62 for piece, KGM for kg, LTR for litre, MTR for meter, and HUR for hour, not SAP unit keys.

Templates need ISO codes instead of SAP UoM keys. SAP’s BH5 guide states migration objects “use ISO codes for UoM values,” so map to valid ISO codes during Convert Values / Value Mapping. SAP Press Data Migration To SAP S/4HANA From File (BH5)

Migration Cockpit treats UoM strictly according to ISO. SAP KBA 2907822 confirms UoM handling in the cockpit and typical mapping issues when ISO isn’t provided/linked. SAP Support Portal-2907822 - SAP S/4HANA Migration Cockpit - Unit of Measurement (UOM) Handling: Usi...

Get the authoritative list from your tenant by pulling your configuration, as SAP provides standard units and ISO codes, and you maintain customer-specific ones. This is the source the system validates against.  SAP Help Portal-Developer Extensibility-Units of Measurement

Examples (cross-checked with UNECE Rec. 20): “piece/one” is C62; litre LTR; kilogram KGM; meter MTR; hour HUR—these are UN/CEFACT common codes used by SAP. Unece:UnitMeasureCode

What to do (accurate and tenant-safe)

Migration Cockpit → Value Mapping (Product object):

Review/maintain internal UoM ↔ ISO assignments in your tenant for migration reference.

If codes seem missing in the mapping task, consult KBA 3588262 (UoM missing on mapping task). SAP Support Portal

With best regards

Hello, @Simon_Lehnert!

For that purpose, you can check if the Migration Object is listed in the sample data catalog available in the official documentation:

From your screenshots, it seems the Migration Object being used is "Product", correct? If yes, there is sample data available for it:

In the link above, you can download a sample file for the Migration Object "Product".

For instance, for the field "Base Unit of Measure (ISO Format)", it shows that the values Piece(PCE), Bag(BG) and Liter(LTR) are valid to be used in the template file. I hope this helps!

Best regards,
Caio

Thank you, ciao, for your answer. Unfortunately, this does not solve my problem. Let me take another field from the production template as an example. There are two mapping tasks, but neither of them concerns this field. Purely hypothetical for this example (but applicable to all value helps): Let’s assume that in my old ERP system, the GTIN category is stored as a name, e.g., "Perish EAN." Now, I need to bring this into SAP. At this point, I have to manually find the field in the UI and check whether it has a value help or not. Since there is no information about this in the example files or the standard migration template (which could be considered as an improvement), I have to figure it out myself. In this case, I found the field and copied the value help, but this is not possible for all fields. After that, I have to manually map my old value to the key I retrieved from this value help using Excel or a program. What I need is either an overview of all value helps or a way to retrieve the values that I cannot copy manually. This would allow me to properly map my old values across all templates and their respective value helps.
