Hello Friends,
I am planning to use the programs BTCTRNS1 & BTCTRNS2 for the upcoming upgrade task in my project. I am aware that the program BTCTRNS1 will de-schedule all the jobs which are in released state except the jobs (RDDIMPDP* ) as it is required for importing.
My doubt is that, when I use this program it will deschedule all the jobs which are available in SM37 but as you all know we would be able to view all the jobs (BW related as well as BASIS related).
Is there any way by which we can deschedule only the BW related jobs ? If not, will suspending all the jobs (including the BASIS related jobs) lead to an impact at the BASIS end? Will there be any dependency?
Kindly let me know your thoughts.
Regards,
Vinoth V

Request clarification before answering.
it deschedules all the jobs while running the program so make sure to run the program during non critical time of your system..

Friends,
After researching further, I have found that there wont be any issues at the basis end when we use this program to unschedule the jobs.
The Jobs which are unaffected are,
1. Active Jobs
2. RDDIMPDP* jobs - ( handles transport requests when running the program. Without this job running we cannot do any imports whether itu2019s a normal transports or support packages )
The Jobs which are affected are,
1. Released
2. Scheduled
What happens to the Active Jobs?
The program BTCTRANS1 does not affect the active jobs in your system. If you have found any critical jobs in active status before the execution of program, then we need to decide when to run this program. If the relevant job does not give any impact to your system then you can run the program.

What happens if there is a daily job that runs at 3pm and if we execute BTCTRNS1 at 2pm then execute BTCTRNS2 at 4pm. The daily job will run directly after or it will wait until 3pm next day to run?
All the jobs except the ones which have a condition set 'Do Not run after' will get processes based on the available Work Processes.
Limitations:
1. You can only use Program BTCTRNS2 only if you ran program BTCTRNS1 before shutting down the SAP.
2. If there is a job that is released after the execution of BTCTRNS1 and before the upgrade, this job will not be suspended automatically.
3. You cannot be selective in the job list.
4. BTCTRANS1 alters the status of all the jobs and do not disturb the Active and RDDIMPDP* jobs.
5. Before running the program if there are active jobs and if it is critical to your system you should decide when to run the program.
