Must be some configuration problem.

See oss notes for setting up uwl.log if you dont find it.

Thanks a lot guys,

If Someone could help me with the Installation requirements for UWL in EP6.0 it would be greate for me to proceed?

As per the previous posts i don't find the Namespace com.sap.netweaver.UWL. I want to know what should i install to get the namespace into my EP6.0? Should the KM module be installed?

Thanks

Aruh,

because of location of uwl files:

com.sap.netweaver.bc.uwl.content.sda

com.sap.netweaver.bc.uwl.service.sda

com.sap.netweaver.bc.uwl.ui.sda

com.sap.workflow.service.uwl.sda

in installation directory under tree:

\CM\SDA\FS\PAR\

I can assume that you should install Content Management and Collaboration. Did you install only Portal platform?

Hi Arun,

1. To see if UWL is installed or not on EP6.0 SP2 + releases, as already mentioned check for com.sap.netweaver.bc.uwl folder.

More scientific way of doing this is to go to System Administration->Support -> Portal Runtime -> Application Console -> Check if com.sap.netweaver.bc.uwl is seen in the dropdown box.

or see if UniversalWorklist Adminsitation link is present under System Adminsitration->System Configuration.

2. UWL ships as part of KM & Collaboration. If you dont have KM installed, chances are that UWL is not installed either. Refer to Note 688830 for details on how to set up UWL without KM.

Kiran

Hopefully documentaiton is better in the next releases.

Thanks Ivan Linnik

I don't see the following namespace under this folder. I have all the namespace starting with com.sap.portal nothing else. should something be installed?

j2eej2ee_01clusterserverservicesservlet_jsp /

workjspTempirj ootWEB-INFportalportalappscom.sap.netweaver.bc.uwl ?

Thanks Kyle Lawrence

As per the Step 4 i don't see a folder called My Universal Worklist. What shall i do? Should i create a new folder or should i need to install something to make the folder available?

4. Select the My Universal Worklist folder to highlight it.

5. In the Portal Catalog, navigate to the folder:

Portal Content ® Content Provided by SAP ® End User Content ® Standard Portal Users ® Pages

The list of pages available to standard users is shown under the Pages folder.

6. Right-click on the Universal Worklist icon under the Pages folder.

A pop-up context menu appears.

7. Select Add Page to Role ® Delta Link

Thanks a lot

Thanks Ivan Linnik,

I have gone through the documentation but i didn't succeed.

But Look at this part i copied from the documentation,

TOPIC : Add UWL Page to the Standard User’s Role

To make the Universal Worklist available to a standard portal user, the Universal Worklist iView page must be added to the standard user role structure under the Home folder.

To add the Universal Worklist iView into the user’s Home folder, do the following.

...

1. Start the standard user’s page configuration, by launching the Portal Content Studio. Select Content Administration (see Launching the Portal Content Studio). .

2. In the Portal Catalog, navigate to the folder Portal Content ® Portal Users ® Standard Portal Users.

3. Right-click on the Standard User Role and choose Edit from the context menu that appears.

The Standard User Role is opened in the Role Editor. The contents of the role are displayed in the content area to the right of the Portal Catalog.

The Universal Worklist page is added to the highlighted My Universal Worklist folder.

8. Save the Standard User Role role and then close the editor.

This completes the addition of the Universal Worklist page to the standard user role.

You can verify the proper completion of this task by logging off the portal and logging on again as a user. Then check to see if the Universal Worklist link appears beneath the title bar.

TOPIC : Register the SAP System

Each SAP system that will provide work items must be registered as follows.

On the port...

1. In the portal, navigate to System Administration ® System Configuration ® Knowledge Management ® Configuration.

2. Under KM Configuration, select UWL Configuration

Step 4 doesn't workout for me. I couldn't find out My Universal worklist folder under Standard user Role under TOPIC : Add UWL Page to the Standard User’s Role

Under TOPIC : Register the SAP System it looks like UWL is under KM Configuration.

Can someone Clear my doubts?

Thank you

You did not ask on my first post in thread. Do you have following directory:

<PRT_SID>\j2ee\j2ee_01\cluster\server\services\servlet_jsp\ /

work\jspTemp\irj\root\WEB-INF\portal\portalapps\com.sap.netweaver.bc.uwl ?

You can ignore step 4 and safely complete the addition of the UWL to the Standard User Role.

Thanks Kyle Lawrence,

But how to find out the UWL installed which is present default with the portal content installation. How to add the Iview for UWL and access the Workflow inbox from R3 system.

Is there any proper tutorial or manual to explain the process of retrieving the work items from workflow inbox.

Could you help me with some documents or sdn links for UWL?

Thank you

The Universal Worklist is installed as part of the Portal. By default, the iView is not part of the Portal User role and would need to be added.

Hi!

I don't know exactly is UWL part of KM or not, but it's seems that so. To check is UWL installed or not, check the following folder exists or not:

<PRT_SID>\j2ee\j2ee_01\cluster\server\services\servlet_jsp\ /

work\jspTemp\irj\root\WEB-INF\portal\portalapps\com.sap.netweaver.bc.uwl
