I have a question regarding our current server setup and the potential addition of a RAS (Remote Access Server) server.
Given that we already have a server handling 250-300 concurrent users, I'm trying
to understand how we would utilize the new RAS server effectively. Specifically, I want to clarify whether we need to run the entire reporting workload on the RAS server or if it can be limited to just handling printing sessions.
Points to Consider:
1.
Current Server Load:
Our existing server is already managing a significant load due to the number of concurrent users and the associated database operations.
2. Purpose of the RAS Server:
If the primary function of the RAS server is to support remote a
ccess and handle printing sessions, can we configure it in such a way that it alleviates some of the reporting workload from our current server?
Would it be feasible to set the RAS server to only manage printing tasks while keeping the reporting process.
Request clarification before answering.
