SQL Anywhere for Windows do not have SDK

Hi, ALL,

I just tried to get the SQL Anywhere client for Windows and install it on my development machine.

Installation went fine, however it does not have nether SDK, nor the library for a C/C++ development.

Is this  intentional?

@chris_keating, weird. Linux download contains the SDK, Windows one - does not.

I would view the Linux installer behaviour as a install bug. You should not rely on a Client only install to include the SDK directory. The SDK directory is intended for development and is not considered a deployment option.

@chris_keating, so in order to do the development I should install the whole server.? Then what is the Client for?

isn’t a server should contain the DBMS and client should have SDK? Am I missing something?

The client is not a development environment - it is a client environment.  As such, it only includes client interfaces such as ODBC and JDBC and some utilities.
