When I open a new tab or window from a Interactive SQL window, it asks for which database and credentials. In version 11 it automatically connected to the same database from where the new window was requested.
How can I achieve this in version 17? Or at least be able to use a connection profile so that I don't have to enter a password.

This behavior is a new feature of version 17.

The closest thing to a connection profile that I'm aware of is an ODBC data source.
A "Clone Tab" / "Clone Window" menu item (or toolbar button) would probably best fit your needs. Maybe somebody picks that up as an enhancement request...

Btw: I've pimped my v.17 installations with a v.16 dbisql. If that's an option for you, you might get along with v.16's "New Window". I haven't faced any obstacles or issues yet with this approach. Should something cause problems, you'd have to reproduce it with matching versions, of course.
