Hello All,
I have to substantially change an existing smartform. The requirement is to add a large number of text fields to a template in a secondary window just above the main window. The main window has a table with header, main and footer sections. After adding the text fields to the template secondary window and increasing the size of the secondary window and reducing the size of the main window, the colums still appear in the original space of the main window and the text fields in the template appear where the colums start.. My question is how do I reduce the size of the colums so that they are placed in the re-sized main window and do not appear where I have placed the new text elements. .
Any suggestion will be appreciated.
thank you

Hi David,
I think you are talking about adjusting the LineType on the TABLE inside MAIN window. If yes then do this - Double click the TABLE window -> Check all the LINE TYPE's. You must be using one of these in your windows. Click on table painter and then adjust the line type (L1 default in this case).

Shravan/Adi, thank you......the width spacing between the columns is not the issue.....I want to reduce the height of the columns so that they are not printing in the secondary window which is above the window....how do I do this in the table window or is it something to do with smartstyles?...I am sure this is just a basic issue..sorry for the basic question
David,
It seems you have reduced the size of the Main Window but not the Start position of printing for the main window. If you have increased the height of the Secondary window by 1 CM, then add that much space in the Upper MArgin value of the Main Window.. I hope this resolves your issue.. Also, you need to take care of the same on all the pages if you have multiple pages in the SF

Hi David,
So you moved your whole Main window down, but the BOX'es did not come down with them. How are you printing the Boxes - Are you using Table outline patterns in your window for that? Is there any other window in place where you are printing your secondary window. Please post a screenshot of the window alignment in smartform (Not the output).

Shravan
The overlapping borders and frames are most probably not coming from the main window. They are probably being printed as a template from a secondary window. Find the secondary window which is printing the borders and frames and reduce the size of the window/template to match the new size of the main window.

Hi
Did you check the SAMRTSTYLES of the text fields ( i mean paragraph or character formats of the Text fields). if you reduce the size of them, it will appear as per the Format .
Coulmn spacing need to be reduced on Main Window. Please check the spacing between columns.
Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Adi.
