Show null values in Bar Chart

Hello All,

I am very new to the SAP Analytics Cloud environment. I want to develop a chart where i have Actuals and Target over Years. Here Till current year we have Actuals(Measure - Sales) but not beyond. So there are null values for actuals for like 2022, 2023 and so on and Target is for 2030 which is a single value. Now bar chart doesn't show the bars for 2022, 2023 and till 2029 as there is no value. If i convert the nulls to zero then 0.0 will be shown with corresponding years as 2022, 2023... which is not acceptable. Null means the year should appear but with no numeric value.

Please suggest how can i achieve this.

Hi there,

Have you turned on the unbooked data option in the chart?

This way the years will show up in the axis but no values/bars will be visible on the chart.

Hello Jay,

Thank you for your answer and it may solve the issue. But the problem now happening because i have 2 Dimensions and turning on the Unbooked Data option is working for both of them. How can we avoid this situation.

Hi there,

You can select the separate dimension and unclick the 'unbooked data' option, then it should only be on the dimension you'd like it turned on for.

Unclicking the 'unbooked data' option for the separate dimension in making the same changes to the other dimension too. That is why i am facing this issue.

Dear shashank_vyas62,

'show unbooked' is passed on to the underlying dimensions. Perhaps you can rearrange the order of your dimensions to solve the problem. if only one dimension should 'show unbooked', then this must be the one on the lowest level, see screenshot.

Hi there,

You need to re-arrange the dimension order of this is being passed along to the other dimension(s). Make the Time dimension the lowest level dimension and select Unbooked data then.
