Settings-> API missing from SAP Integration Suite

Hi All,

I am running a trial BTP account and I have followed the instructions to setup the Integration Suite because I am doing an SAP Integration course.

Once it has all been done, when I go to Settings->API to set up the virtual host, a pop up appears that says "profile is being -------" (I missed what that word was) and then logs me out.

When I log back in, it is completely gone from the settings dropdown, but everything else is there.

Has anyone seen this before and know where I may have gone wrong? Is there an alternative way set up a virtual host?

Thanks in advance,

Matt

Hi Matthew

And "APIs" did appear in the menu initially? If so, I'd probably just disable the API Management capability and then re-enable it. Go to the SAP Integration Suite landing page -> Manage Capabilities. Remember to assign yourself all required role collections (documented here).

(I'm assuming here that you are currently doing the initial setup; if you already have APIs created, disabling and then re-enabling the capability will delete your work.)

Morten

Hi Morten,

Yes it was there after initial setup and then selecting API in settings logged me out and when logging back in, it had disappeared.

I did wonder if it had anything to do with the fact I am on a trial account and not available for it?

But I will try that for sure and will report back if it works or not.

Thanks for the help

Matt

Hi mrook

API Management is available in the trial account, so that's not the issue.

Thanks Morten,

I tried to deactivate and reactivate the Manage API capability and it won't allow me to deactivate it. It sits on "in progress" and then turns back to green "Activated."

I tried to completely delete my trial account and start again from scratch and again when I get to the adding of the Manage API capability, it says:

And then kicks me out of the system. When I log back in to Integration Suite, the settings completely disappears this time with no ability to open it.
The appropriate role collections (I believe) are added as per the installation instructions.

I suppose now it's time for support to get involved.

How frustrating. I read somewhere on another SAP community question that the trial accounts sometimes has issues provisioning accounts.

thanks

Matt

Hi mrook

That does sound like a trial environment hiccup. It happens from time to time but also tends to go away again.

I don't understand how this is flagged as an answer because it did not work for the person who posted this issue nor does it work for me. Something is clearly wrong with the environment as I end up with missing menus, the API menu item having some odd default tooltip name and several other problems.

I have completely the same situation. Even if I re-activate Capabilities, assign roles, etc. "APIs" under settings appear till I click on it. After long time of processing I'm logged off and situation "APIs" disappeared from the list again.

I have same issue. In my case the API setting is not there ever. @lhardin The question need to be reflected as accepted solution if it worked for the poster, an answer is an answer even if it didn't work.

I took the brute force approach and assigned every role collection to my user. This seemed to work.
