When i try to create a service entry sheet in the application "manage service entry sheet", i have this error message "Active entity key component is initial"
Request clarification before answering.
The error message "Active entity key component is initial" while creating a Service Entry Sheet (SES) in the Manage Service Entry Sheet app usually indicates that the system is missing a required key value for one of the business objects involved in the creation process.
This issue can occur due to several reasons:
Check the Purchase Order reference
Verify that the referenced Purchase Order item is valid and has all mandatory information maintained.
Ensure that the PO item is service-related and is relevant for SES creation.
Check that the PO has not been deleted, blocked, or already fully processed.
Check service master / service line details
Confirm that the service lines in the PO contain valid service numbers, quantities, and units of measure.
If the service was changed recently, try refreshing the PO data or creating a new SES from the updated PO.
Check authorizations
Ensure the user has the required authorizations for Service Entry Sheet creation and the related purchasing documents.
Clear browser/cache issues
Since this is a Fiori application, try:
Clearing the browser cache.
Opening the app in an incognito/private window.
Testing with another browser.
Check backend error details
Open the browser developer tools (F12) and check the network call that fails.
Review the SAP Gateway error details in:
Transaction /IWFND/ERROR_LOG
Transaction /IWBEP/ERROR_LOG
Check SAP Notes
If this is an S/4HANA Cloud system, verify whether there are SAP Notes or known corrections for the "Active entity key component is initial" error in the Service Entry Sheet app.
To investigate further, please provide:
S/4HANA Cloud or On-Premise version?
Is this the Fiori app Manage Service Entry Sheets (Fiori ID: F2027) or another application?
Does the error occur for all Purchase Orders or only one specific PO?
Screenshot of the error message and the PO/service item details.
With these details, the root cause can be identified more precisely.
