Screen Personas 3.0 Script execution in GUI for Windows | Microsoft JScript runtime error

Hello community,

we are getting an error when we run for this script in GUI for Windows:

session.findById("wnd[0]/usr/tblSAPL0VTRTCTRL_V_TVRO_COM/ctxtV_TVRO_COM-TDLNR[5,0]").text;

The error we get when the script executed:

Object required
Src: Microsoft JScript runtime error
Line:29 Error:0 Scode: 800a01a8

The problem is not occurs when the script is executed in the WebGui. We are on Screen Personas 3.0 (SP03) and the newest HotFix applied for SAP GUI for Windows (7.40 PL10) with Blue Crystal Theme.

We have checked note 2080071 for the general statement and more details about the SAP GUI limitations. As there is a sentence: "There are commands which are working fine in SAP GUI for HTML, but not in SAP GUI for Windows.", we are not sure if the script code (see above) is affected.

Do you have any hints how can we solve this issue?

See some screenshots below. If you need any further input, let me know.

Thanks,
Tamas

Hi,

Please check your current SAPGUI version.

Refer to this SAP Note 2080071. It require SAPGUI 740 Patch level 10 or above to fix this issue.

Hope this help to resolve your issues.

Steve Chai

Hi Tamas,

We're also running into some issues where scripts work in WEBGui but not in SAPGUI itself. If you've gotten a note for this, can you please share?

Thanks!

Hi Erin,

unfortunately we do not have raised a note, as we decided to use SAP GUI for HTML instead.

Hi Tamas, all right, then I will create an incident. Thanks for your response.

Hi Tamas,

is there already an incident about this issue? We are just facing the same issue with SAP GUI 7.40 PL7 .

Thanks in advance for your answer!

Well, SAP GUI 7.40 PL7 is not officially supported. For Personas, you should be at the latest GUI patch level which is currently PL11. The minimum supported PL is 10 as described in note 2080071. Please update your GUI and see whether your problem is resolved in the meantime.

This doesn't seem like a statement that should cause a problem in the Windows GUI, but I'm not sure. I'd suggest creating an incident for component BC-FES-GUI and ask the SAP GUI team to investigate.
