Hi Gurus;

I was analyzing SAP Lama for automating SAP System refresh

Does SAP LaMa also assist in completing the post refresh functional steps as well , or it is limited to technical steps only.

Also want to know if it can be used to Mask , Slide and Dice the data to ensure sensitive Prod data is removed during refresh ?

Does SAP TDMS do a good job at masking data ?

Hi Tushar,

Yes, LaMa provides "post copy/refresh automation" for all the basis tasks - we officially call it "Post-Copy Automation" however, it covers both copy+refresh scenarios.

Currently LaMa does not provide data masking/slicing capabilities but, we are evaluating this use-case and we will share the relevant updates once some decisions are made.

However, LaMa provides integration with TDMS wherein, you can call the TDMS scrambling module as a last step during the LaMa refresh process.

and Yes, data scrambling is one of the key capabilities of TDMS - you can check their support portal page for more details, or reach out to the TDMS team.
