Hi Everyone,

I am in the process of implementing SAP MDG in my current Company. Whereas the Business People are suggesting with their own material number range with respect to each material types. However in SAP MDG, it has their own sequence of Material Number Range functionality. So I try to convince my Business People to follow the SAP MDG owned material number sequence to follow to avoid any future issues. Do You have any kind of documents to show and describe with the Business People why I am recommending to go along with SAP MDG owned material number sequence or any kind of your own experience may help here to address them to go safely with SAP MDG owned material numbers. Like you, I also have a "personal" preference for internal number ranges :).

In any case, I strongly recommend to have an extended conversation with your Business uses before taking a decision. The topics has been already addressed several times in the SAP Community - for example in this thread and in this one.
