SAP Data Services job development estimation

Hi guru's,

For planning purposes i am looking for time estimation guidelines in ETL job Development. Are there any standard estimations?

Hi Martin,

Like Mike Koleosho already mentioned, my document on http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-63388 helps you with a rough estimation. Also keep in mind that you take an additional 10% of extra work into account for defects, incidents etc.

Offcourse the planning should be based on a DTAP like environment.

Thxs! we are working with a Development, test and production environment. Does this affect the estimation?

Hi Martin,

Yes this can affect the estimation because you need to transfer/transport through all the environments.The quickest solution for transport is with the use of ATL file loading.
