SAP Compatible Printers

Hello,

I was wondering if there is a possible list of printers that works within the SAP netweaver software? If not, Can anyone verifyif these models of printers would work specifically within the netweaver program?

- Brother MFC-J480DW

- Canon MG5720

Hi Devin,

First off, you'll note that I added a secondary tag to your question, as there is one just for this topic (at least if you're referring to NetWeaver ABAP): "NW ABAP Print and Output Management."

Next, if you take a look in transaction SPAD -> Output Devices: Display -> toggle to edit mode -> Create, give a dummy printer name, and click the Device Type Selection button (little "magic wand" icon), you will get links to all kinds of information about printer support.

It starts with Note 1036961, which discusses how to use the Device Type Selection Wizard (and keep it up-to-date), and links from there to classic old Note 8928 (List of Supported Printers/Device Types, though this is now obsolete and just links to many other Notes -- mainly use the wizard to figure out what printers are supported), and 1100779 (Participants in the SAP Printer Vendor Program).

From these links, you should be able to determine compatibility of almost any printer.

Brother and Canon are both "Gold" level participants, which means most of their printers are supported.
