Dear experts,
we have just started the first SAC Planning project and one of the prerequisites is to install SAP Cloud Agent (for BW4 Acquired data connection to be used for planning models).
Before we include additional component into our landscape (which is complex enough even now) we would like to understand technical details of SAP Cloud Agent. I struggle to find good documentation for SAP Cloud Agent.
Did anyone else try to find more details than 'how to install SAP Cloud Agent'?
Some example questions I need to answer:
- What is the package size in SAP Cloud Agent, how we can define it? How to split the data load for big requests?
- How to configure Cloud Connector to work with SAP Cloud Agent? Do we need a separated account in Cloud Connector to handle the traffic from Cloud Agent to/from SAC?
- How (technically, in which part of the request) are credentials transferred from SAP Analytics Cloud to SAP Cloud Agent (HTTP header)?
- Can we use HTTPS in SAP Cloud Agent? Is the user / password always encrypted?
- Do we need to create new RFC destination in BW4/HANA for SAP Cloud Agent?
- Can we encrypt RFC connection from SAP Cloud Agent to BW4?
- Can we specify, in BW authorization profile for the technical user, only some queries which technical user can read? Maybe in S_RS_COMP1?
- SAC is triggering the request to Agent, for how long SAC is waiting for the response? How the waiting time in SAP Analytics Cloud is defined (parameter)? Can we adjust it if needed? What happen when the request doesn't return in given time?
- Where to find more details more details about RFCs required in BW4 for Acquired Data connection?
