SAP BTP - Difference between Service Instance and Service Subscriptions?

Hi Amit,

For the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), there are two commercial models: consumption and subscription-based.

• Commercial Models

For subscription-based consumption, you sign up for specific services, service plans, and quota, which you (as global account administrator) can assign as entitlement to the different subaccounts.

• Entitlements and Quotas

For the service catalog, see

• discovery-center.cloud.sap

For these services, a service instance is created, e.g. your own SAP HANA Cloud tenant in the Cloud Foundry environment, which your space administrator could stop/start/terminate.

In addtion, you could also subscribe to shared services like SAP Web IDE. You would consume these (no administration involved).

Can we say every instance of service have Application/Subcription associated with it through bindings.

We already have CPEA plan, which one should we create ==> Subscription or Instance?
