SAP Analytics Cloud project implementation for SMBs

Hi all,

This is about implementation of SAP Analytics Cloud projects for SMBs, especially in connection with SAP Business One ERP.

I spoke also with other partners and tried to get in touch with SAP about this topic, but for the moment no clear answer has been provided.

SAC pricelist shows a minimum block of 25 users/month, which is a quite high investments for many SMBs.

Question: why should I get 25 licenses for my main BI and analysis tool when I need just 5 users working on that?

Our idea, as a reseller, is the following:

1. Buy the starting minimum of 25 users licenses;
2. Our customer A just needs 10 users, so we sell 10 licenses to them; analysis and dashbords will be implemented on Cust. A workspace (in SAC Public Cloud);
3. We now have 15 remaining licenses from the initial purchase;
4. Our customer B just needs 5 users, so we sell 5 more licenses to them; analysis and dashbaords will be implemented on Cust. B own workspace (in SAC Public Cloud), with no overlapping with Cust.A env;
5. We now have 10 remaining licenses from the initial purchase; we will keep them for future activation / implementation;

Is this something admitted and feasible, from a licensing and resale perspective?

If not, I don't see any opportunity to implement SAC Analytics Cloud projects on SMBs, while competitors tipically offer single user subscription or similar.

Any hint will be appreciated!

Hi thomas_sambruni,

You can buy named users licenses less than 25 block size. In fact we had our system setup with 10 users during initial POC phase.
Reach out to your SAP AE and they should be able to break a deal.

May I ask you how many global SAC users were involved in the project, after POC phase?

I also checkd and licenses may be purchased via SAPStore in blocks of 5 users (price per user changes, of course).

there were two POC done during initial phase one of them turn out to be for a small department (compliance). They end up with 16-17 licenses (excluding system owner).If your are looking for the least count.

Again market place rates are fixed, you can negotiate with your AE further. Sometime you end up with a bargain.
