SAP Analytics Cloud Forecast up o a certain date

Hi,

I'd like to forecast a time series in SAP Analytics Cloud up to a certain date. The problem is, that I can only choose the number of periods, I want to get the forecast for (comp. Screenshot).

Is there a way to insert the date, up to which I want the forecast to?

Hi,

as a side note, i wouldn't try to force a wrong result: the automated forecast engine indicates that the confidence is low / the projection isn't robust - it only extrapolates the forecast further if the inference is strong.

In this case, it doesn't .. so it could be that you don't have enough historicals to be able to look far forward. or it could be that there's no meaningful periodicity to your data, so there's no real pattern ?

It's stated..

The predictive forecast must establish a trend, and to do so it requires a certain number of source data points. In general, the minimum viable number of source values is three. Meaning that at least three historical data points are required to project the next period. Specifically, three years of history are required to project the following year (at the yearly level), three quarters to project the next quarter (at the quarterly level), three months to project the subsequent month, and so on.

Hello Antoine, I'm trying to achieve it in the Story-Mode of SAP Analytics Cloud, because I don't have access to Predictive Scenarios.. Thanks for the quick response though. Chris
