Hi community,

I am unable to upload custom widgets in SAC even if I have role BI Admin and Application Creator.

As you can see from the screenshot in the Application Creator role there is no flag on Create, also it's not possible to flag it, even the System Owner is not able to flag the property:

The only user able to upload widgets is the System Owner.

Is there a way to assign this right?

Thanks

pitzolufabio do you have a planning licence? There is a known bug where the upload of widget json files requires a planning licence. That is not intended and is a bug that will be fixed.

We will always maintain the setting that an administrator needs to upload the widget in the first place. You are inviting externally hosted javascript to be part of your BI landscape and an admin should be the person who decides if that is appropriate or not.

Hi david.stocker, thanks you for your reply. Is there a planned date for this bug to be fixed?

Hi Fabio,

Apparently this is a current limitation as listed here: https://help.sap.com/doc/00f68c2e08b941f081002fd3691d86a7/2019.24/en-US/c5708dc365714dc89f9ef396e485....

Perhaps you can raise an improvement request for this via https://influence.sap.com.

Kind regards,

Hi Martijn, it also says "In addition, you can enhance other roles with permissions for working with custom widgets." and that's exactly what I'm not able to to, even the System Owner cannot assign this privilege (see the red shape in my previous screenshot).

Or am I missing something?

Thanks
Fabio

Hi Fabio,

You can assign read permission in a role. The others are, I guess, not applicable although mentioned. The system owner manages the widgets while other users can read them when used in an application.
