Dear experts.
I know the possibilities of connection from SAC to data sources. However, I cannot see if there is a database in the SAC itself. That is, does it offer permanent data persistence? or on the contrary it is temporary.
Could you provide me with an access point to information to have an understanding of how the data is stored in SAC? I am not interested in the connections (how the information is stored), I am interested in how long the information remains in SAC and how that data is managed.
Thanks and greetings DAvid Sánchez.

David,
I'm not clear as to what sort of detail you are looking for regarding how data is stored in SAC.
You mentioned that you are already familiar with the difference SAC connection types:
https://help.sap.com/viewer/2d7115b0e0aa4f78bfd9c06fdc1fe4f6/release/en-US
So you are aware that SAC provides the option of either Live data connections or import data connections. Live data connections do not store data in the SAC tenant and data is queried live from the source system every time a story or chart is queried. Data import connections import a copy of data into SAC which can be manipulated without affecting the source data. For some connection types this data can then be exported back to the source system.
As SAC is built on top of SAP HANA the imported data resides in the HANA database of your tenant and remains for the life of your tenant unless you explicitly delete the data yourself.

Thank you

Hi David,
Essentially in SAC is visualised in two different ways Data
As customers there is a no need to understand how data is stored ( HANA knowledge is preferable ) but to ensure get the modelling correct.
I hope that helps

Afshin

- Live Connection i.e. Data is not replicated into SAP Analytics Cloud i.e. Data still stays on Customer on premise system and only visualised in the SAP Analytics Cloud.
- Import Data Connections i.e. Data of the Customer is replicated within SAP Analytics Cloud and in turn stored in a HANA database in the back end. I suspect that when you a create a Analytic data models through the SAP Analytics Cloud Modeller you are essentially creating a Calculation View of the data you have persisted in the HANA DB.

But ¿what if I want to consume the SAC model from another App? if that model is saved in a Hana DB, I would like can acces to that data directly from hana
