Hi

Does anybody know if there are any new sample Java code available for viewing BO 4.x reports especially Webi?

The sample code available in the below link is quite old and our Java developers are finding that

many of the methods have been deprecated.

BUSINESSOBJECTS REPORT ENGINE SDK JAVA APPLICATIONS

If you have some info on some new sample code for 4.x that will be very useful.

Thanks in advance

Hey M Vadiraj!

Just to let you know, SAP is moving the Web Intelligence SDK to RESTful WS starting 4.0 SP6 and 4.1.  One of the benefits of REST is that it is language agnostic.  I would suggest at least looking at the REST documentation if you plan to develop SDK applications with our newer versions moving forward.

Hi Brian

Thanks a lot for the information.

This is important for us to know since we just started integrating our product with the BO reports.

Your information will help us to decide which way to go.

Thanks again.

Here is the SDK documentation library for 4.X.  The REST API is not fully complete yet but there is some basic functionality just to give you an idea of how it's going to work.

Hi Vadiraj,

You can download the Web Intelligence Report Engine Java SDK Developer Guide for BI 4.0 SP 4 available here.

In the developer guide, refer to section "6.4 Viewing reports - Overview".

This section discusses how to use ReportEngine SDK to view Web Intelligence reports.

Hope it helps.

Thanks!!
