Hello Experts,
is there one or several options to automatically upload data from a flat file into an existing data model in SAP Analytics Cloud?
I created a data model (new model type) and imported some data into it via the data management tap in the modeler. When the new data arrives next month, i would like to update the existing data.
Do i have to manually create a new import job, doing the same data preparations and mappings again, even if the flat file structure stays the same?
Which options are there to automize the import and solve this use case more efficient?
Highly appreciating your answer, best Regards!
Jana

Like Nikhil mentioned, put the file into file server and schedule an import job from file server would be the best solution. But just let you know, starting from 2023 QRC3 you should be able to import from a new flat file using an exiting job without redo the mapping and wrangling if the structure is identical.

Hi,
For re-using the flat file transformation ( data prep/mappings etc), you need to use a SAC file server. Once you have created the rules sourced from file server, the next time when you place a new file in the file server, you can refresh the previously created job and it will import the latest data. Few points to watch out
1. File server path should be same ( you can reach out to Basis to set it up)
2. The file name and structure should be same as well ( if you use a different name with same structure, it will show error)
I hope this clarifies your question
Thanks

If it was not a local file you could have achieved it through Data Import Step of Multi Action. Sadly it does not support import jobs created on local file. I am not sure if you could move the file on a file server and try creating an import job and use that in Data Import Step of Multi Action.
I would suggest that you upvote an existing request or raise an influence request to add the local file import jobs to Data Import step of multi Action (currently local file is not supported)
Hope this helps !!
