Retrofit in SAP is keeping sync between your urgent Changes and Normal changes.

It can be implemented after your urgent changes has been transported to Production system and you want to maintain version of your object.

it can be done via many methods likewise manual retrofits, creating TR , via BC set etc.

Thanks.

Do you have any idea what SM version do i need in order to activate the retrofit process ?

What are the standard T-Codes for configurating the all relevant settings ?

Retrofit is available as part of Enterprise Edition for Solution Manager. There are no specific T-Codes, but rather actions in the Task List of a Solution Manager CHaRM enabled project. See this link on the service marketplace for a brief slide deck with some screen shots.

Service Market Place -> SAP Support Portal -> SAP Support Infrastructure -> SAP Solution Manager -> SAP Solution Manager Enterprise Edition -> Build & Test, and Deploy -> Retrofit

This is the most documentation I have seen to date and am also looking for more.

Hi Rotem,

The Retrofit functionality is available in Solman Enterprise edition. the functionality was introduced in SP12 but is fully functional with SP15.

Once you have this support pack you see the task 'Start Retrofit' in the Maintenance Cycle tasklist if you have defined the Post-Processign system in the Logical Components. (It appears as an action in transaction type SDMJ as well)

While Defining Logical Components in SMSY chose the system role - 'Post Processing System' and assign the system to which you want to 'Retrofit'.

While defining projects add this logical component (make sure that the system role 'post-processign system' appears in the system landscape tab after you add the logical component) and proceed with creation of Maintenance cycle as usual.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Regards,

Kriti Bhalla

Hello all,

I just received an email about an upcoming ASUG web cast on this topic, and I think it would be a great opportunity to maybe get some answers to your questions.

ASUG Presents: SAP Change Request Management - Retrofitting Transport Requests

Register Today at ASUG web link: http://lists.asug.com/t/803547/19913388/54808/2/

(As registration is only open to ASUG members, you must log in to the ASUG Web site to access this page.)

In system landscapes in which several releases are processed at the same time, changes can be made in different development systems: new developments can be made in the development system, and errors can be corrected or improvements can be made in a maintenance system for the production system landscape, at the same time. The system release levels must be adjusted regularly. Changes are made in parallel, so changes cannot be transport between systems in requests, because current software can be overwritten and inconsistencies can occur. To avoid this, import into the target system is controlled. This is called retrofitting.

This Webcast will provide an overview of the motivation, purpose, and procedure of the retrofit use case within Change Request Management (ChaRM) of your SAP Solution Manager 7.0 system. Also, the new retrofit enhancements introduced with SAP Solution Manager 7.0 EHP1 will be highlighted.

Hi,

Documentation is hard to find on Retrofit subject.

The information i collect are the followings :

- Prerequisites

A logical component in the SAP Solution Manager project contains at least one system with the role Retrofit System.

You have performed the task Assign Retrofit System to Development Systems in the overview of the task list, to specify into which system changes are to be imported.

When you define retrofit systems, the system only offers you transport requests from the maintenance systems you assigned to the development systems when you started the retrofit. If you have not made any assignments, the system offers you all transport requests from all

maintenance systems, when you start the retrofit.

You have created and saved BC sets in the maintenance system, to be able to transfer customizing settings from the maintenance system into the retrofit system.

For more information, see SAP Note 669542 and under Creating Business Configuration Sets and Activating Business Configuration Sets. The also applies to handling deleted objects in BC Sets.

You have created transport requests for the retrofit in the retrofit system into which you want to import the changes from the maintenance system.
