Restore Process with rman backup

Hi Team,

We have done the oracle upgrade from 12cto 19c and we took full database backup using rman before upgrading database. Now we need to validate the backup plan that is restore the database with full database backup before upgrade.

Can you please provide steps/SAP notes related to this.
