Hello,
Is it possible to change the technical name of a process chain in BW 3.5? Or do I have to rebuild the process chains from scratch to change the name?
Regards,
Christoffer
Request clarification before answering.
You copy the process chain with different technical name & delete the previous one.
You'll get copy option in menu only after opening the original process chain.

Hi Christoffer,
You can't rename the technical name of the process chain.
But you can COPY the process chain by selecting the process chain (START variant) and then type "COPY" in transaction code area and press enter.
Then a copy of the old process chain is created and you can have a new technical name fo rthe new one.
NOTE: You should delete the start variant of the new process chain and create a new start variant bcoz if you run the PC with the same old start variant, you may face some errors. So, you need to create a new start variant and then activate and schedule the chain.

Hi,
In BW 3.5 we dont get the option to copy from menu bar.
Just enter ''copy'' in the address bar and press enter.
you will get the option to enter the new technical name and description.
Only in BI 7 version we will be having the copy option in menu bar.
