Hi ,
Could anyone explain me what is the use of "Relay Server" and where we should need to use one?
Many Thanks
Nishan

Hi Nishan,
is is a small piece of software that is either used as an IIS or an Apache plugging and can be used to forward requests to a number of SUP servers. Typically it is set up inside a DMZ of a network. SUP Servers that are behind firewalls and not directly reachable over the internet can register with such a Relay Server and from that point on the Relay Server can forward incoming requests from Mobile Devices to the registered SUP's. The Relay Server is not a necessary requirement in an SUP setup but it is a tremendous help when it comes to security and the network.
Other than that follow the documentation that Vlad mentioned.

Hi Ingo,
Many thanks for your reply .
Just to double check my understanding ,
1. Relay sever provide trusted interface to SUP servers behind the firewall to receive requests from mobile devices (does this help to balance the load too? , So if use a Relay server the device connection has to make to the Relay server then how it will map to the SUP ?)
2. "a small piece of software that is either used as an IIS or an Apache plugging" ,could you please explain this further ?
MAny Thanks
Nishan
